- Diluting the Antifoam
AF-30 FG disperses readily in aqueous systems. The emulsion can be added directly to the foamer with only mild agitation to thoroughly disperse. For use in systems where maximum efficiency isdesired the silicone emulsion should be pre-diluted with water before being added to the foamer. If it is necessary to store the diluted material for longer than 8 hours it should be frequently agitated.

Food Additive Status
AF-30 FG has been used in food related applications under FDA regulation 21 CFR 173.340 as a direct food at levels up to 10 ppm silicone solids. Generally, it has been found to comply with the following regulations for use as an indirect additive in the manufacture of food packaging components or food contact surfaces: 21 CFR 175.105, 176.170, 176.180, 176.200, 176.210, 177.1200, 177.2260, 177.2800, 177.3120.
Technical Details & Test Data
- Processing Guidelines
Only 5-50 ppm is required in most foaming systems. In testing to determine the most effective working concentration, a good starting point is to add 10 parts of antifoam emulsion (as supplied) per million parts of foamer. The results at this concentration will indicate whether to increase or decrease the amount.

- Storage & Handling Information
- This product exhibits excellent storage stability when proper handling procedures are followed. As with most emulsions, storage in a cool place (60-75F max.) in a tightly closed container will provide maximum shelf life. Under these conditions, it has a minimum shelf life of one year.
- Because it contains water it should be protected from freezing. Repeated freezing may damage the container or may separate the emulsion rendering it unsuitable for use.
