- Alcoguard® 5800 is an associative acrylic rheology modifier designed to function in dispersions or detergents with high levels of surfactants or electrolytes that adversely affect other thickeners. When neutralized to a pH above 7.0.
- Alcoguard® 5800 exhibits highly efficient thickening and stabilization performance in a variety of aqueous systems. In some detergents the thickening effect may be achieved at pH significantly below 7 with the proper formulation technique.
- Incorporate Alcoguard® 5800 with mixing as last ingredient prior to neutralization. Thickener may be diluted with water to facilitate incorporation in highly viscous formulations. Thickening occurs when the pH of the formulation is raised above a pH of 7.0. Rheology modifier for surfactant systems.
- Additional Information
Improves flow and rheology of formulated coatings. Easy to handle, supplied as a low viscosity emulstion synergistic thickening with anionic and non-ionic surfactants. Imparts pseudoplastic flow characteristics. Effecient in lower solids latex and pigmented systmens. Thickening above pH 7Use levels of 0.2 - 1% .Alcoguard® 5800 is typically used at levels 0.2-1.0 % (dry)based on total formulation weight.
